In the late 1990s Gary Barr was traveling extensively and noticed how many specialty sweet shops there were especially in Europe. Observing a lack of these shops at home he decided to persue the idea of establishing just such a shop in western Canada. But he didn’t want anything similar to what he had seen..it had to be unique,original and different. So he decided to incorporate local ingredients, ,like berries and grains into old fashioned European recipes. In his travels he visited all kinds if chocolate and candy manufacturers..Many shared their knowledge of production methods, and formulas.After learning the art of manufacturing he decide to incorporate indigenous ingredients into old fashioned recipes to create new and exciting confections. These superior products are sold under the name BARRs.

The business was born in 1994,expaned in 1998. Today the product line has grown from confections to specialty food items. Our goal is produce quality items utilizing the very best ingredients to produce a product that makes eating it a moment to treasure.

Our confections include fudge,oldfashioned sponge toffee,pecan toffee,the best butter peanut brittle you’ve ever tasted (with roasted nuts) caramels,and all kinds of chocolate barks and Belgian chocolates filled with creamy centres made from locally grown berries. Our barks range in flavour from traditional almond to candy cane and cranberry.

Working with prairie berries especially the Saskatoon Berry, BARRs Sweet Revenge Confection Co expanded to include jams jellies and syrups under the name BARRs. We select all no.1 berries to enhance flavour and appearance and make a true jam - not spreads.

Another area of specialty items is the BARRs line of ice cream/dessert toppings. We manufacture hot fudge and butterscotch as traditional toppings made with cream and butter that make them melt in your mouth. Our fruit toppings include BARRs Saskatoon Berry,blue berry,and strawberry. These garnitures can be used as a dessert topping or pie fill.

Many of our dessert toppings/pie fills are used in the bakery industry..such as white chocolate topping,marshmallow,pineapple,raspberry,peanut butter,and spiced apple toppings.\Our line of unique gourmet foods and confections is constantly evolving and expanding to maintain customer satisfaction.
